Hello Pirates! I am Mrs. MaShawn Williams-Portis! I am extremely delighted to be a member of the Phillips Preparatory School faculty as a 7th Grade Advanced Science Teacher! I bring with me 20 years of experience in the field of education! I have served as a teacher, reading interventionist, math coach, Title 1 Facilitator and Literacy Camp Site Facilitator during my tenure with the Mobile County School System. I am a proud graduate of C. F. Vigor High School! I received both my bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Mobile, my educational specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University, and my certification in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama. I love science and hope to inspire my students to love science by teaching them the content and showing them its pertinence to the world around us!
I have a loving husband, two children and two bonus daughters who are the center of my joy! We love to shop, cook, fish and travel in our spare time.
